  • 9 June from 11-2: The Little Ladies Literary Luncheon at the Lighthouse. Local Redlands author, Michelle Worthington, is holding the Little Ladies Luncheon in reaction to a group on the Gold Coast called "The High Life" who will only admit members over 182cm tall. Michelle, who is not quite 5 foot, will be having the luncheon at the beautiful Lighthouse Restaurant on Brisbane's bayside on the 9th of June from 11 till 2 and invites little ladies of all heights to attend. She will also be releasing her new book, "Practically Single; managing your money and your life after divorce." Michelle says, "Women need to support each other. Creating groups that exclude someone because of how they look is damaging to us all." Her book deals with how women can regain control of their life after a divorce and provides practical tips to move forward. “ I chose the Lighthouse restaurant because women should be a beacon of light to each other, not have a ‘country club’ mentality. Women should empower each other to be more than they thought they could be, regardless of what size they are.”

OCTOBER
  • 12 - 14 October: The Word Writers Getaway at Alexandra Park Conference centre (Sunshine Coast). I will be conducting a workshop on time management as an Author and a Mum. Following the success of the Word Writers Fair the organisers have decided to try a live-in conference for 2012. Held on the beautiful Sunshine Coast we have organised everything from airport transfers to accommodation and food. All you need to do is book your flights and come (oh, and book in advance please) or plan a weekend away if you are local. Got little kids? That’s ok too!
